IT firm’s expansion is backed by Lord Mayor of Bradford

A BRADFORD-based technology has been given civic backing after moving to its new premises.

ITC has moved from Manchester Road, where the business started in 2006, to Listerhills Science Park, Campus Road.

The firm has expanded from 500 sq ft office space to 2,000 sq ft at its new site.

Now it has been backed by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Joanne Dodds, after it had its official launch on September 2.

ITC provides independent telecommunication consultancy services to small and medium firms in Yorkshire and across the UK.

It is now looking to taking on more staff after receiving a £60,000 grant from Bradford Council under the growth zone scheme.

ITC is also involved in a connection voucher scheme, which means firms can claim a government-funded £3,000 voucher for upgrading their internet connection speeds under the Superconnected Cities programme.

The firm is currently fourth in the national league table in the BDUK connection vouchers, only behind BT, Virgin and Talk Talk. But ITC is the top supplier in Leeds and Bradford in terms of connections made.

Nasar Hussain, ITC managing director, says moving to their new site will help to further their expansion plans and the Lord Mayor gave it her seal of approval.

He said: “It feels great to be here.

“We have been working here for the last 11 months but now we have held our official launch.

“The move helps us grow as a business and that was the idea behind it.

“The Lord Mayor of Bradford was pleasantly surprised in the fact that the Growth Zone helped a technology-type business. It is good for the city, it is helping Bradford.

“We have been trading for nearly ten years now and are more centrally located now too.

“We are looking to expand with the products we offer now. We will be looking to bring new products to the market. Moving to Listerhills will better showcase what we have got.

“The trade-off with the growth zone funding was that we offered at least three new jobs. We have offered more than that.”

The City Centre Growth Zone is part of a £35 million initiative funded by Bradford Council and the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, which is ending its capital grants programme this month.

More than 50 new businesses – mainly independent ones – have been given start-up support and 16 investors have located businesses in the city centre.
